When did mankind become so gullible to believe in falling angels and sons of gods?

Become ? remember we started out rather ignorant like cave men and have become rather intelligent some more knwoledgeable than others. the past believes in angels and gods those clinging to past are large in numbers but just as rome was not built in a day they tore it down awfully fast.
