Does anyone have any tips for me?

I always have trouble organizing my school projects. My powerpoint slides seem out of order, my papers have good ideas but the paragraphs get off topic and don't fit together in the order I put them in, etc. It seems I take about twice as long attempting to organize as I take actually brainstorming and writing. Help!
